Getting started
1. How do I connect to the Yes 4G network with my Yes ID?
For 1st time login, you will be prompted to login on the “Home” screen with your Yes ID and password. To change your password, tap on the phone Menu key, located at the bottom left of your phone, select Settings > Account & Sync Settings.
2. How do I change my default Yes ID password to a password I can remember?
To change your password, tap on the phone's Menu key, located at the bottom left of the phone, then select Settings > Account & Sync Settings > My Account >
Tap on the password box and this will link you to the YesCare portal where you can make the change.
3. How do I switch between Yes 4G and GSM Mode?
To switch between Yes 4G and GSM, press and hold the Power button > select Switch to Yes 4G / GSM > The icons on the status bar will change to indicate the current selected mode.
4. How do I set the date and time on my Yes Eclipse?
Press Settings > Date & time to set the time and date on your phone.
By default, after logging in to Yes 4G network, the time and date will be set automatically.
5. How do I set up password protection on my Eclipse?
Press Settings > Locations & security > Set up screen lock > select from either Pattern, Pin or Password and follow the on screen instructions.
6. How do I change volume on my Eclipse?
On the Home Screen, press the Menu button and select Settings > Sound > Volume. You can also change the volume in music and movies you watch by pressing the volume button.
If you want to have the same volume for incoming calls and notifications, tick “Use incoming call volume for notifications.”

7. How do I send my Eclipse into sleep mode?
Press the power button to activate sleep mode to prolong battery life. Press the power button again to wake your phone from sleep mode.

The light is your Notification LED and its colours will tell you:
Solid green: Connected via your cable and fully charged

11. How do I switch to airplane mode?
Press and hold the power button until a list appears. Select “Airplane Mode”

Personalisation
1. How do I change my wallpaper?
On your home screen, press the Menu button and tap on the Wallpaper icon. When the shortcut list appears, choose from:
- Gallery: Select the photo you desire from the folder and tap save once you've cropped the photo.
- Live Wallpaper: Select your desired animated wallpaper and tap “Set Wallpaper.”
- Wallpaper: Select your desired wallpaper and tap “Set Wallpaper.”
2. How do I add widgets, shortcuts and folders to my home screen?
On the Home Screen, press the Menu button and select “Add” then tap on either Widgets, Shortcuts or Folders. You can also do a long press on the home screen to access the shortcut list.
3. How do I rearrange or delete my widgets and icons on the home screen?
To rearrange a widget or icon, press and hold the widget or icon until your Eclipse vibrates. Now move the icon or widget to your desired location and lift your finger.
To delete a widget or icon, press and hold the widget or icon until your Eclipse vibrates. Then drag the icon to the bin you see on the home screen and lift your finger. Note that this removes just the widget or icon from your home screen and does not remove the app from your phone.

4. How do I change my incoming call, message and notification tunes?
To change your ringtone, press the Menu button on your home screen then select Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone.

5. How do I set my alarm and its ringtone?
Go to your menu and select Clock > Press the Menu button > Tap Add alarm > Key in your desired time > Tap Set > Select Ringtone to change the default tone or set your Eclipse to vibrate when the alarm goes off.
Contacts
1. Can I put my contact icon on my home screen?
Yes, you can. Long tap on your home screen and select Shortcut > Contact > Pick the contact you want to put on your home screen.
2. Can I sync my contacts with my Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft Exchange Outlook or Facebook accounts?
Yes you can. Follow the steps below to sync your contacts.
Go to Dialler > Contacts > press the Menu Key > select Accounts, press Add account
The contacts will sync if you are logged in to Google, Yahoo!, email setup and Facebook.
For a list of supported applications, please go the accounts setting and select sync contacts.

3. Will my contact list sync with the Yes Life NAB server?
Yes, it will.
4. What is the Network Address Book?
The Network Address Book (NAB) is the address book function on your phone that keeps a copy of your contacts synced to a server so your contacts are available when you need them on your phone or when you sign into Yes Life on your PC.
5. How do I transfer contacts from my previous phone to my Eclipse?
You can transfer your contacts from your SIM card or your SD card by tapping on Contacts > Menu button > Import/Export > and then select the option you desire.
6. How do I back up my contacts?
All your Yes ID contacts are stored on our servers. However, if you would like to perform a manual backup, you can go to Dialer > Tap on Contact > Tap Menu > Select Import/Export > Select Export to SD card to backup all your contacts to SD card.
Dialler
1. How do I make calls via the YES network?
- Tap the dialler on the home screen.
- Make sure the IMS icon is on and the network is YES.
- Key in the phone no.
- Tap dial icon to make your call.
2. Can I make video calls?
Yes, you can make video calls within the Yes network to other Eclipse users or to Yes Life users on the PC.

Your video call may have up to 4 participants within the Yes Network to other Eclipse users or to friends using Yes Life.

- Tap on your Dialer and key in the first number you wish to join, then tap on the Video Call icon.
- Once the call is answered, tap Add Call, then enter the second number from either the Dial Pad, the Contact List or Call Log by tapping on the Video Dial icon again.
- Once your friends have picked up the calls, tap Join and the conference call will begin.
4. Can I surf the Internet during calls?
Yes, you can browse the Internet or play games while you are in the call.
5. How do I know which network I use to make call?
At the Dialer screen, select the Phone tab, you can select the network to make call either from YES or from GSM network.
6. Can I make a video call to friends on other networks?
No, but you can make video calls to friends using Yes Eclipse or Yes Life on their PC.
7. How can I enjoy local call rates while travelling abroad?
You can call your love ones at home for just 9 sen/ min simply by connecting your Eclipse to any Wi-Fi network and following these steps:
- Drag the Notification bar down
- On the “Ongoing” bar, you'll see the Yes Life icon
- Tap on the Yes Life icon, a screen indicting Yes Life settings will appear
- Tap Sign in
8. How many people can I have in a conference call?
You may have up to 6 contacts in a single conference call.
Web Browsing
1. How do I access the Internet?
On the Home Screen, tap the Browser icon. This will load the Yes World website by default. Tap the Address bar to enter the site address you wish to visit.
2. Can I download apps from websites (not the Google Play Store)?
Yes, you can, but note that your Eclipse might register these apps as being from an unknown source, which will prevent you from installing the apps. Furthermore, installing apps from unknown sources may harm your phone.
We highly recommend you use Google Play instead. Note that you will need a Google account to access Google Play apps.

3. Can I play Flash games in my phone's browser?
Yes, you can. Note that you'll have to install the Flash player on your Eclipse to enjoy Flash on your mobile browser.
Connectivity
1. How do I connect to a 4G network with my Yes ID?
Your Eclipse will prompt you to log in when you connect for the first time.
Alternatively, you may click on Settings > Yes Network to key-in/setup your Yes ID password.

Your Eclipse is tied to the Yes ID you signed on with for the first time. To use a different Yes ID, you'll need to do a hard reset on your Eclipse.
3. Does the Eclipse support dual modes (4G and GSM)?
Yes, it does. You may change your configuration in Settings > Wireless & Networks.
Email
1. How do I setup my email?
- Go to your email by tapping
from your home screen. - Key in your email address and password.
- Tap Manual setup.
- Key in your email settings.
- Click Next to check your incoming and outgoing mail settings.
- If everything's set up correctly, you'll be able to connect to your email account.
2. Can I view Excel or PowerPoint files from my Eclipse?
Yes, you can view these files in the app called “Documents To Go” on your Eclipse.
3. Why can't I copy word from my email?
We are sorry but this is the default Android feature.
Storage
1. What should I do if my phone's memory is full?
You can uninstall some of your downloaded applications or clear your cache.
2. How do I transfer files to my Eclipse?
You can't transfer files directly to your phone's storage but you can transfer files to your phone's SD card via USB cable.
3. How do I check my phone's and SD card's storage space?
Tap on Settings > SD card & phone storage to see on how much space you have left.
4. Can I access my Eclipse's storage via the MAC operating system?
Yes, just plug your Eclipse into a MAC and select USB storage access.
Reset
1. How do I perform a factory reset on my Eclipse?
To perform a factory reset, select Setting > Privacy > Factory data reset.
Note that a factory reset will erase all the data on your Eclipse, so use this cautiously.
Camera
1. How do I take photos?
Tap the camera icon or long tap on the camera button.
2. Why can't I take a photo when there's no SD card inserted into my Eclipse?
Your Eclipse is set up to store photos taken on your SD card, hence it will not work if your SD card is removed.
3. What features can I find inside Eclipse's camera?
Your Eclipse's camera comes with the following features:
- Focus mode
- Picture size selection
- Colour effect
- ISO selection
- Touch Auto Focus
- Store location

Wi-Fi
1. Does the Eclipse support portable Wi-Fi hotspots (tethering Wi-Fi mode)?

3. How do I use this Wi-Fi hotspot feature?
Follow these steps to activate the Wi-Fi Hotspot feature on your phone:
- Tap on Settings > Wireless & network settings > Tethering & portable hotspots > Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Set a Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and Wi-Fi password by clicking on the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings > Configure Wi-Fi Hotspot.
- Key in your SSID and password. Click Save.
- You'll see a blue Wi-Fi icon in the upper left of your notification bar.
- You can now connect to your Eclipse as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
4. Can I still surf on the Internet on my Eclipse while I have Wi-Fi tethering on?
Yes, you can.
Bluetooth
1. How do I open or edit my Bluetooth profile?
Tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth settings to turn on your Bluetooth or change the settings.
2. Can I send files using Bluetooth?
Yes, you can.However, some files might require third party apps to send via Bluetooth.

1. How do I change the language on my Eclipse?
You can change the language by tapping Settings > Language and keyboard > Select language. You can also change your keyboard settings here too.
2. What languages does the Eclipse support?
Eclipse supports English (UK & US), Malay and Chinese (Simplified & Traditional).
3. How do I write Chinese characters on my Yes Eclipse?
The Yes Eclipse has a built-in Chinese word input feature which is called Pin Yin IME.
To change the settings, go to Settings > Language & keyboard > check Google Pinyin.
To use it, tap and hold on the input box and select Input method.

Yes Instant Messaging (IM)
1. What is Yes IM?
Yes IM is an application that enables you to send instant messages to other Yes IDs (data charges apply).
2. How do I send Yes IM to my friends?
Tap the Yes IM icon and then tap on your friend's Yes ID to start instant messaging.
3. Can I send Yes IM to contacts in other networks?
No, Yes IM only works exclusively within the Yes network.
Apps
1. What is the Google Play Store?
The Google Play Store lets you purchase, download and install apps for your Android phone.
2. How do I download games or apps from the Google Play Store?
You'll need to have a Google Account to use the Google Play Store. Once you've logged in, click on the Search button to look for a specific app to download to your phone or browse by category.
3. Who should I contact if my download or app purchase fails?
Tap the Google Play Store app on your Eclipse, then press the Menu button and tap Help to view the help pages.
SMS
1. How do I change the ringtone for text messages received?
Tap SMS > Settings > Notification settings to change your received messages ringtone.
2. How do I know which network to use when sending text messages?
To switch between networks when sending a text message, tap on the downwards arrow to switch from the Yes network to a GSM network.
3. Can I send text messages to more than one person?
Yes, you can send a group text message to a maximum of 10 users per text message.
Widget
1. What is a widget?
Widgets are elements that can be added to your home screen and launcher page to display information. These are typically items like time and news feeds.
2. How can I add widgets to my Eclipse?
On the home screen, long tap on the screen or press the Menu button > Add > Widgets to add widgets.
Multimedia
1. How do I play music files?
From your Application menu > Tap Music > Select a song to play.
2. How do I create playlist?
Tap and hold on a song's name then select Add to play list on the menu that appears.
3. Can I listen to the radio on my Eclipse?
No. However, you can download radio streaming apps from Google Play.
4. What music file formats does Eclipse support?
Eclipse support the following music file formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+.
5. How do I access my videos?
Tap on the Application menu > Gallery or application menu > Video.
6. How do I delete videos?
Tap the Application menu > Gallery > Video > Tap your Menu button twice > tick the file you want to delete > Select Delete.
7. Can I upload and share my videos?
Yes you can. To do so, go to Application menu > Gallery > Video > Tap two times on the Menu key and tap Share > select the video to share.
8. What video file formats does Eclipse support?
Eclipse support the following video file formats: MPEG-4, H.264/AVC and H.263/3GPP.
Firmware Over The Air Update (FOTA)
1. What is the purpose for performing a firmware update over the air (FOTA)?
FOTA allows you to install the latest firmware made to enhance your device's performance.
2. Are there any requirements before I can update my firmware?
- Ensure that your SD card is inserted into your device.
- Ensure that your SD card has at least 300MB of free space.
- Ensure that your phone is properly connected to the charger or is fully charged.
- Perform a backup of your device before triggering the update.
- Ensure that your phone is connected to the Internet.

4. What happens if my phone loses its internet connection during the download process?
The download process will hit a timeout and pause the download automatically.
Click "Resume" once your phone has regained connectivity to continue downloading the SW pack.

6. When my phone is in low battery mode, it does not allow me to continue with the download, why is that?
This is a safety precaution to prevent corrupting your phone's software.
7. Will FOTA incur additional charges on my account?
An Internet connection is required for FOTA and you can choose to connect via 3G,
Wi-Fi or through the Yes 4G network. FOTA is free of charge should you download
via the Yes 4G connection. You may incur additional charges should you use
other network connections.
Warranty
1. What is the warranty period for the Eclipse?
All our devices come with a 12-month warranty period from the date of purchase.
2. Who should I contact if I have a problem with my Eclipse?

3. How long does it take to receive a replacement device?
There will be no replacement devices issued, but you can walk into our Yes Store and Kiosk for troubleshooting and repair assistance. It may take up to 7 working days to repair your device.
Battery
1. What can impact battery life of my Yes Eclipse?
- Running multiple radios at once:
- The Yes Eclipse can run on both GSM and WiMAX networks at the same time, while other phones in Malaysia only run on GSM networks with 3G/2G data.
- WiMAX loads data much faster than 3G/2G and as a result, requires more power to achieve such high speeds.
- Network conditions:
- Time spent outside strong WiMAX and/or GSM network coverage areas will require more power from your Yes Eclipse to maintain connectivity.
- Display Setting:
- Brightness levels.
- The amount of time display is left turned on.
- Running apps and services.
- Frequency of automatic synchronisation, such as emails and social media app services.
2. How can I make my battery last longer?
- Turn off any radios you're not using:
- If you don't have a SIM card inserted, make sure GSM is turned off.
- To disable GSM radio: Go to Settings > Select the Wireless & network settings > Uncheck the GSM option.
- Other options to consider: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Hotspot/tethering, GPS/location data.
- To disable Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Select the Wireless & network settings > Select the Bluetooth settings > Uncheck Bluetooth option.
- To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot: Go to Settings > Select the Wireless & network settings > Select the Tethering & portable hotspot > Uncheck Portable Wi-Fi hotspot option.
- To disable GPS or Location Data: Go to Settings > Select the Location & security settings > Uncheck the Use wireless networks & Use GPS satellites option.
- Reduce the display's brightness and screen timeout duration:
- To modify display brightness: Go to Settings > Select the Display settings > Select the Brightness option > Reduce the brightness to an acceptable level.
- To modify screen timeout duration: Go to Settings > Select the Display settings > Select the Screen timeout option > Set screen timeout to a shorter period.
- Disable automatic sync and running services:
- Set email and other applications to sync at specific time intervals or to manual sync, rather than automatically.
- Disable push notifications on applications, where applicable.
- To modify background services and sync: Go to Settings > Select the Accounts & sync settings > Uncheck Background data in the Manage accounts section, disable Sync for each account.
- For example: Select your Yes account > Ensure that it has been fully synced beforehand > Uncheck Sync Contacts > Restart your Yes Eclipse.
- Choose regular Wallpapers (Live Wallpapers often require additional processing power & RAM).
- 3rd-party launchers may cause the battery to deplete faster.
- To ensure your Yes Eclipse battery provides the maximum use time and quick charge,
please use the included charger:
- Other chargers may provide inadequate power to charge quickly and efficiently. This can impact your Yes Eclipse's functionality, charging time, charging capacity, and even reduce battery lifespan.
