Eclipse Postpaid Plans
1. What do the Eclipse Postpaid Plans offer?
The Eclipse Postpaid Plans offer three new postpaid plans specially made for the Eclipse. Select your desired contract period to get either a discounted or FREE Eclipse.
The Eclipse Postpaid Plans are available at all Yes Stores/Kiosks and Yes authorised retail partners’ outlets from 2 May 2012.

2. What do I need to pay when I sign-up for an Eclipse Postpaid Plan?
You would need to make payment for the following components:
- Plan Advance Payment: a proportion of your monthly commitment fee which will be used to off-set your initial bill or subsequent bills.
- Device Upfront Payment: The amount varies according to your subscribed plan. This payment is not a deposit and will be rebated back to you in your monthly bill over the period specified in the contract.
- Device Price: A non-refundable one-off discounted price to purchase the Eclipse. However, if you subscribe to Eclipse 238 with a 24 month contract, you will receive your Eclipse free of charge!
3. The Eclipse 238 Postpaid Plan comes with the optional add-on of the new Huddle XS. How much do I have to pay for both devices (Eclipse + Huddle XS)?
With the Eclipse 238 plan on a 24 months contract, you will receive a FREE Eclipse and you’ll be entitled to purchase the new Huddle XS at RM400 (Normal retail price: RM480). Standard sign-up fees apply. [As stated in Q2]
4. Who is eligible to sign-up for the Eclipse Postpaid Plans?
All individuals aged 18 years and above are eligible to sign-up for the Eclipse Postpaid Plans.
5. I am a non-Malaysian. Can I sign-up for an Eclipse Postpaid Plan?
Yes, you can. However, you are required to make a deposit of RM 100, refundable upon termination of service in addition to the other required advance payments and/or deposits.
6. I am currently subscribed to another mobile operator. Will I be able to retain my mobile number when I sign-up for a Super Postpaid Plan?
Not at the moment. This service will be made available soon.
7. Where can I sign-up for the Eclipse Postpaid Plan?

8. Can I purchase the Eclipse without a service plan?
Yes, you can purchase the Eclipse at the normal retail price of RM1,688 at all Yes Stores/Kiosks and Yes authorised retail partner outlets. Check out the locations of our Stores and participating outlets here.
9. What are the differences between Eclipse Postpaid Plan and Super Postpaid Plan?
The Eclipse Postpaid Plan allows you to have the best experience with your Eclipse 4G Smartphone by providing an all-in-one plan that includes voice, SMS and data.
The Super Postpaid Plan provides you with better value for data usage. However, voice calls and SMS will be charged at 9sen/min/SMS on a Pay-As-You-Use basis.

10. If I sign up for Eclipse 238, how can I utilise my FREE 1,000 Off-net minutes and/or SMS?
You may call and/or SMS users on other domestic networks up to a monthly combined total of 1,000 minutes and/or SMS. (e.g. 600 voice minutes and 400 SMS)
11. My Eclipse plan comes with FREE On-Net Minutes and FREE On-Net SMS, what does that mean?
It simply means you get to make calls and send SMS to users on the Yes network without being charged for the stipulated amount of free on-net minutes and SMS that comes with your respective service plan.
12. How will I be charged if I have used up all the FREE minutes and SMS in my Eclipse plan?
You will be charged at the rate of 9 sen per min and 9 sen per SMS to all local networks i.e. Yes to Yes and Yes to Other Local Operators. A 6% service tax is applicable for off-net calls (Yes to Other Local Operators)
13. Is there a Monthly Data Quota for the Eclipse Postpaid plan?
Yes, there is. The Monthly Data Quota allocation will be based on your subscribed Eclipse Postpaid and will be refreshed at every billing cycle.
14. What will happen if I exceed my Monthly Data Quota before the next billing cycle? Will I be charged for additional usage?
You will still be able to enjoy unlimited data usage without any charges but the speed will be reduced to a maximum speed of 128kbps.
15. What will happen to my unused Monthly Data Quota on the next billing cycle?
All unused Monthly Data Quota will be forfeited on the next billing cycle.
16. I am in another country (out of Malaysia). How do I use my Eclipse to Roam and make calls or text messages via SMS?
The concept of 'Roaming' is not applicable when you make calls and/or text messages via SMS with your Eclipse that is fully integrated with Yes Life. When you are abroad, all you need is Internet connectivity to use Yes Life and you will be charged at local rates of 9 sen/min/SMS when you call-back to Malaysia. If you make calls or text messages via SMS to other countries, you will be charged IDD rates as published here.
17. How do I make IDD calls and/or text messages via SMS?
Just dial or enter <00><Country Code><Area/Mobile Code><Telephone Number>.

19. What is the charging block for domestic and IDD voice calls via Yes Life?
The charging block for domestic and IDD calls is set at 30 seconds/block.
20. What is audio conferencing and how much will it cost me?
Audio conferencing is a feature that enables you to initiate and engage in voice calls with up to 5 people concurrently.
When you initiate an audio conference call, you will be charged 9 sen/min multiplied by the number of people you call.
For example, when you initiate an audio conference with 3 of your friends for 10 minutes, you will be charged RM2.70. That is, 3 x 9 sen/min x 10 minutes = RM 2.70

21. What is video conferencing and how much will it cost me?
Video conferencing is a feature that enables you to initiate and participate in video calls with up to 3 people concurrently.
For example, when you initiate a video conference with 2 of your friends for 10 minutes, you will be charged RM1.80. That is, 2 x 9 sen/min x 10 minutes = RM 1.80

22. My Eclipse Postpaid Plan comes with FREE On-Net Minutes, can I use them to make audio and video conference calls?
Yes, you can. When you initiate an audio or video conference call, your FREE On-Net Minutes are utilised first.
You will be charged the number of people you call X the minutes used.
For example, when you initiate a video conference with 2 of your friends for 10 minutes, you’ll be utilising
20 minutes (2 x 10 minutes) of your allocated FREE On-Net Minutes.
Only after your allocated FREE On-Net Minutes have been used will you be billed for the conference call charges as previously stated.

23. After I sign-up for an Eclipse Postpaid plan, can I convert to Super Postpaid plan?
No, you can’t. However, you can still use your allocated data from your Eclipse Postpaid plan and share it with 4 other Yes devices.
24. Can I convert my Super Postpaid Plan to an Eclipse Postpaid plan?
No, you can’t and you will need to subscribe to a new Eclipse Postpaid Plan. However, you can purchase only the Eclipse device at the normal retail price of RM1,688.
25. I am currently an existing customer with a Yes 4G Prepaid plan. Can I convert to an Eclipse Postpaid plan?
Yes, you can. Your Yes ID & Yes 018 number from your existing Prepaid plan will be maintained and your Yes Credit will be transferred to the new Postpaid account. Any unutilised data, voice and SMS in your old Prepaid account will be forfeited. This conversion service from Prepaid plan to Postpaid plan is only available at Yes Stores/Kiosks.
26. Can I upgrade my Eclipse Service Plan?
Yes, you can request for a service plan upgrade in My Account at www.yes.my. For more details on ‘Plan Upgrade’, please click here.
27. Can I downgrade my Eclipse Service Plan?
Not at the moment. This service will be made available soon.
28. Will I incur a penalty if I terminate my Eclipse Postpaid plan before my contract expires?
Yes, you will incur a contract early termination fee which is the total amount of your Monthly Commitment Fee for the remaining months of your unfulfilled contract period.
For example, if you on the Eclipse 88 plan with a contract of 12 months and wish to terminate your account in Month 4, your early termination fee will be RM704.00. That is RM88.00 X 8 months (unfulfilled within your contract period) = RM 704.00

29. Is a warranty provided for the Eclipse?
Yes, a 12 month device warranty will be provided for the Eclipse.
30. Can I use my Eclipse Postpaid plan to tether (i.e. using my Eclipse as a modem)?
Yes, the usage will be drawn from your Monthly Data Quota and there will be no additional charge(s).
31. Can the Eclipse support 4G and GSM (2G & 3G) networks at the same time?
Yes, the Eclipse is compatible with 4G and GSM (2G & 3G) networks and can provide concurrent 4G and GSM telephony. Click here to learn more about Eclipse.
32. Can the Eclipse’s Operating System (Android Froyo 2.2) be upgraded?
No. This service is currently unavailable.
