Experience:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in Virtual infrastructure.
  • Degree or Engineering in Computer Science/IT.
  • Proven knowledge of VMware & vSphere.
  • Certified on VMware.
  • Experience in designing complex virtual infrastructure solutions in a mid-to-large scale data center environment.
  • Experience with Physical to Virtual (P2V) migration tools.
  • Experience with VMware VDI and/or Lab Manager Products.
  • Basic understanding of security concepts. (i.e. NTFS permissions, security auditing, security user contexts, application layer vulnerabilities, etc).
  • An understanding of Active Directory/SAMBA.
  • Understanding of storage, network, and hardware technologies.
  • Experience in Windows and/or UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
Assess, Analysis, Design, Implement and Deploy Wintel Servers (Physical & Virtual), Virtualization (VMware & Hyper-V) and Enterprise Services – Messaging (MS Exchange), SharePoint & Antivirus Solution.
  • To lead evaluation, test & installation of VMWARE ESX software with controls and standards e.g. Firewalls/Data Security, Network software and hardware
  • To lead the test & installation of software maintenance and updates
  • To provide lead problem diagnosis and resolution
  • To be responsible for meeting the system availability targets defined in the Service Level Agreement
  • To ensure operational procedures are in place, maintained and followed
  • To lead the technical support recovery activities following failure, including disaster recovery
  • To provide advice & guidance to other groups on technical and operational issues
  • To provide incident and services fulfilment and support to Microsoft products related issue
  • To provide change management related to Microsoft products
  • To perform patches assessment, test & installation which related to Microsoft products
  • Perform scheduled maintenance in accordance to the released patches which related to Microsoft products
  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshoot, and conduct root-cause analysis for any issues escalated on the storage and backup platforms within YTLC and its customer base
  • Create and provide reports for backup and storage environments and related activities and tasks
  • Management and implementation of firmware levels on storage/Backup platforms.
  • Create and update documentation for storage and backup environments. The documentation would include: standard operating procedures, solutions, knowledge base articles and applicable project documentation
  • Work with customers on projects related to your specialization in order to create supportable solutions that meet both the customer and YTLC’s requirements
  • Research and identify industry trends in the storage and backup space, leveraging new ideas to improve the service design and support for the customer base
    - Work with customers or YTLC’s Professional Services department to accept any new implementations into the management life cycle. This includes making sure all necessary documentation is handed off to Managed Services and all team members are informed of any new technology and / or process
    - Be on call to act as a final level of escalation before resorting to vendor support
