Yes partners with YTL AI Labs to become Malaysia’s AI-First Telco

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 June 2026 – YTL AI Labs today announced a strategic partnership with Yes (by YTL Communications), bringing ILMUchat, Malaysia’s AI, to over 3 million users across the country, alongside announcing new major updates.

Built by Malaysians, for Malaysians, ILMUchat combines world-class AI capabilities with a deep understanding of local language, culture, and context. While users can expect the familiar conversational experience of leading global AI assistants, ILMUchat is designed to understand the nuances of Malaysian life – from the difference between Kuih Lapis in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak, to understanding Malaysian acronyms like PTPTN and KWSP, to navigating conversations that naturally blend Bahasa Melayu, English, dialects, and Manglish.

New Features

The latest release significantly expands what users can create with ILMUchat.

Beyond text generation, users can now create presentation slides, design posters, and build mini applications and games directly on ILMUchat.

Users can use ILMUchat to draft letters, proposals, and messages, then send them directly via WhatsApp or email with a single click.

The ILMUchat experience has been designed specifically for Malaysian users. The interface features a Bahasa Melayu-first design, with localised examples and greetings in Manglish. When drafting emails and messages, users can choose from a range of tones – from formal and professional to casual and Manglish – allowing the AI to communicate to users in the style that feels most natural to them. When looking for local recommendations, users are seamlessly directed via Maps to their local destination. ILMUchat also features a voice with a distinctly Malaysian accent.

ILMUchat Basic and Pro Plans

YTL AI Labs also introduced ILMUchat’s commercial pricing model.

The ILMUchat Basic plan provides free access to ILMUchat’s core capabilities, including limited usage of premium features such as slide generation, poster creation, and app building.

For users who require unlimited access to these advanced features, the ILMUchat Pro plan is available at RM50 per month.

Strategic Partnership with Yes (by YTL Communications)

The strategic partnership between YTL AI Labs and Yes is expanding access to advanced AI technologies for Malaysians nationwide.

All Yes subscribers can now access ILMUchat through a seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) experience. This means they can access ILMUchat directly from the MyYes App with the same login credentials for a seamless experience. As an added customer benefit, Yes subscribers will receive complimentary access to the ILMUchat Pro plan.
