Barcelona, Spain, 5 Mar 2026 — YTL marked a major milestone at Mobile World Congress 2026, demonstrating Malaysia’s growing leadership in 5G Advanced and artificial intelligence (AI) on one of the world’s most influential technology stages.
At the event, YTL received the GTI Award for its innovative national-scale 5G Advanced x AI stack, recognising the company’s role in advancing next-generation connectivity and intelligent network capabilities.
YTL CEO Wing K. Lee also shared the company’s vision of “Powering Malaysia into an AI Nation” at the AI Beyond Boundaries Summit. During the session, he highlighted how the convergence of advanced networks and AI will drive Malaysia’s digital transformation and global competitiveness.
Lee joined global industry leaders in a panel discussion on the future “Telco of Tomorrow,” sharing YTL’s perspective on how telecommunications providers are evolving beyond connectivity to become key enablers of AI-driven innovation and digital ecosystems.
YTL also contributed to and launched the Mobile AI White Paper as a founding member of the GSMA-GTI Mobile AI Group. The white paper outlines a strategic blueprint for integrating AI into mobile networks, shaping the future direction of the telecommunications industry.
With the commercial launch of its 5G Advanced network, YTL is now among the first seven operators globally to deploy the technology, positioning Malaysia at the forefront of next-generation connectivity.
